Effective 7/28/26
HopeWings Media (“we”, “us”, “our”) publishes children’s books and educational resources. This policy explains what information we collect through hopewings-media.com, why we collect it, and what you can do about it. It also covers our use of cookies.
If you are under 13: please do not send us your name, email address or any other personal information. Ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you. See our Children’s Privacy Notice.

Automatically
- Standard web analytics: pages viewed, approximate region, browser type, referring site
- Cookies needed to keep your shopping basket working — see the Cookies section below
We do not ask for a date of birth or a photograph anywhere on this site. A phone number is requested only at checkout, is optional, and is used only for delivery.
Payment information
We do not see or store your full card number. Payments are handled by our payment provider, [PAYMENT PROCESSOR], who processes card details directly and securely. We receive only confirmation that payment succeeded, plus the last four digits and card type for your order record.
Buying on Amazon
Some of our books are also listed on Amazon. If you follow a “Buy on Amazon” link you leave this site, and Amazon’s privacy policy applies to everything that happens after that. We never see those orders or the details attached to them.
What we do with your information
- Process, pack and deliver your order
- Send order confirmations, dispatch notices and delivery updates
- Handle returns, refunds and customer service
- Reply to your message
- Send the newsletter you asked for
- Understand which pages are useful so we can improve them
- Meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or share it with advertisers.
We will only send marketing email if you have asked for it. Order confirmations and delivery updates are not marketing, and you will receive those whether or not you subscribe.
Who else sees it
A small number of service providers process information on our behalf, and may only use it to provide that service to us:
- Our website host
- Our payment provider
- Our shipping carriers, who need your delivery address
- Our email newsletter platform
- Our analytics provider
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Order records — as long as tax and accounting law requires, typically seven years
- Account details — until you ask us to close your account
- Newsletter details — until you unsubscribe
- Contact form messages — as long as needed to deal with your enquiry, and for our records afterwards
- Analytics — retained in aggregate
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device.
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies on pages made for children.
Essential cookies. The site cannot work without these, so they cannot be switched off:
- Keeping items in your shopping basket as you browse
- Keeping you signed in during checkout
- Remembering your cookie preference
- Basic security and fraud prevention
Our payment provider also sets cookies during checkout that are necessary to process your payment securely.
Analytics cookies. These help us understand which pages people find useful, in aggregate. We do not use them to build advertising profiles.
What we do not use. No advertising or retargeting cookies. No cross-site tracking. No cookies that profile children.
Third parties. Some pages embed content from other services, and following a link to Amazon takes you to a site with its own cookies. We do not control those.
Managing cookies. Every browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop your basket and checkout working. If we show a cookie banner, you can change your choice at any time from the link in the footer.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe — every newsletter has a link at the bottom, and it works immediately
- Ask what we hold — email us and we will tell you
- Ask us to delete it — email us and we will, unless we are legally required to keep it, which applies to completed order records
- Correct it — tell us what is wrong and we will fix it
- Close your account — email us and we will do it
Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. We apply the choices above to everyone, wherever you are.
Security
The site uses HTTPS throughout, including checkout. Card details never touch our servers. Passwords are stored encrypted. We limit who can access order information to the people who need it to fulfil your order.
No website can promise perfect security and we will not pretend otherwise. If a breach ever affected your information, we would tell you.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be announced in the newsletter.
